The main prop for this film was the freezer, for the end scene; the young girl attempts one of Houdini's most difficult tricks with a water-filled freezer. The garden was left to grow over for a few weeks leading up to the shoot, so that it looked untended, and the freezer was placed on pallets.
The young girl's bedroom was dressed with her audience of toys, and the selection of dangerous implements were gathered for the packing scene. All of the wardrobe was in keeping with the background that the mother & girl came from.
