The two living spaces for the two character's flats were on the 5th floor of a building overlooking Belfast City Hall. It had been some time since these rooms had been used by anything other than birds, so a fair bit of cleaning up had to take place before we could even start to decorate & dress the sets.
Along with Tanya, the director, the decision was made to go for neutrals & greys in the woman's apartment, as she was uptight and restricted in her palette. And in the old man's apartment he was to be eccentric, and therefore have all sorts of random clutter that had been collected over the years.
