SYNOPSIS
A man and a woman stuck in a dead end marriage. He drinks tins of lager, flicks his fag ash on the carpet and watches footie in the pub with his mates. She lives on a staple diet of tea, biscuits and Countdown. The arrival of the intelligent goldfish shows the woman just what a hopeless situation she's in.
PRODUCTION HISTORY
Whilst Gawain was dredging his mind for script ideas, Anna happened to tell a story whilst cleaning out an old fish bowl.
An idea was born.
After we had drawn up a first draft, Rosie came on board and helped to take our project to the next level, through copious re-writes and fine-tuning.
We had rigorous casting sessions and one fish stood out from the rest, 'Spunky McFag-Butt'. His understudy never really stood a chance and, to his credit, accepted his place in the standby tank.
Spunky shone with his immediate screen presence, and we all basked in his reflected genius.
